What is Mindful Breastfeeding?

Please note: Mindful Breastfeeding sessions are currently unavailable whilst I make a slow return from maternity leave - if immediate support is required please reach out and I will signpost you.

Breastfeeding can be such a wonderful experience. However, it can also be extremely challenging for many women and research shows that when women are unable to meet their own breastfeeding goals this may lead to anxiety, stress and even in some cases trauma.

I will never attempt to ‘sell’ the benefits of breastfeeding to you, there is plenty of other information and research out there to help you decide whether its something you want to do.

What I am passionate about is supporting you to meet your own breastfeeding goals and helping you have a calm and connected feeding experience.

Much of the breastfeeding support available today is directed at the ‘technical’ side of breastfeeding as I like to call it - latch, positioning, making sure baby’s nutritional needs are met. Which are of course important. However, there is limited focus on the emotional wellbeing of the mother.

Understanding the mind-body connection when it comes to breastfeeding can completely transform the experience for parents, making them feel calmer, more connected and in control. This is where Mindful Breastfeeding is unique as it prioritises emotional wellbeing and a calm and connected feeding experience.
